Notes

Andy’s filing was both better and worse than you might expect. Better, because there is some, and worse because it’s often slightly incorrect. The sermons were stored in folders by year – but they’re often in the wrong folder, and they’re dated with a slightly esoteric version of the liturgical calendar that can make things a bit confusing. We’re sorry if any are dated incorrectly.

He wrote them out as he intended to speak them, so there is occasionally punctuation that might work better if you can hear him (which we’re afraid we can). They have been edited slightly for typos, but are presented mainly as they were found.

From memory he got his first computer (an Amstrad 1512) in about 1988, which is when the digital filing starts. There is also a box of handwritten notebooks that we might get to at some point.

Taken as a whole they both sum up a journey, and summon up specific places and times on that journey.
